School Board Agenda

The Board of Trustees of the Friona Independent School District will meet in a regular session on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Meeting Room of the Friona I.S.D. Administration Building, 909 East 11th Street, Friona, Texas 79035. The agenda for this meeting is as follows:
1.	The Board will hear from visitors.
2.	The Board will receive certified values from Chief Appraiser Curby Brantley and approve certified values.
3.	The Board will set a date for a called meeting to conduct a public hearing on the adoption of the maintenance and operation budget for the 2008-2009 school term and a proposed tax rate to fund that budget.
4.	Consent Agenda A. Approve minutes of previous meeting B. Accept the following reports from the Administration: a. Budget Summary Report b. District Maintenance Report c. Enrollment Report C. Report on School Funds a. Superintendent Activity b. Local Maintenance c. Permanent School Fund d. Cafeteria Report D. Tax Collection Report
5.	Payment of bills.
6.	The Board will consider budget amendments.
7.	The Board will consider a resolution to participate in a Chapter 41 agreement.
8.	The Board will hear a report on resignations and staffing for 2008-2009.
9.	The Board will discuss preliminary plans for the TASB School Board Convention.
10.	The Board will discuss meeting dates and times for summer months to comply with budget and taxation public notice/adoption guidelines in the Comptroller's Truth in Taxation release.
11.	Adjourn
During the course of the meeting if any discussion of any item on the agenda should be held in closed session, the session will be conducted in accordance with the Texas Open Meeting Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, Subchapter D & E.
